Hey all– Over the past week I’ve redesigned the way the series descriptions on the website work so that each week now has its own page–no more waiting forever for ALL the ridiculously large Mushishi pictures to load. If I have anyh “Why I Love This Series” riffs, they now appears as comments on the relevant week’s description. Furthermore, there is now a dedicated discussion page for each show, and we’ve gotten some excellent suggestions on the Series Suggestion page–check it out! Today, Mushishi gives an odd significance to an ink stone and a rogue tooth, the Enohana bath-house tries some very modern tricks to attract customers, two vegitanimals attempt to solve their personal issues, and Yugo’s fate REALLY gets decided. See you there! –Matthew

Hey all!
Registration for Anime Detour 2007 is starting now. Because the cap-off is 3000 people (there were 2500 last convention), it’s going to be more difficult this year to register and get hotel rooms. Anyone who is interested is registering, send my a response ASAP. If we register now we can get the group rate. Anyone who is interested in hotel rooms, we won’t be able to register till a little later because the discounted rate hasn’t been announced for Detour yet.
The convention should be around the same time (around Spring Break) as the last convention was. If you need more information or registration forms, visit http://www.animedetour.com/index.php or give me a call at 651-697-0175. I’m home most of the time this summer.
I’m looking foreward to it being even better then last year^-^ See you all this week!
Sara
Per Dr. Waas’s recommendation, I decided to upload the first episode of Suzumiya Haruhi no Yuutsu to the free anime download section on the site so everyone could check it out.

Urrrr… duuuuhh… silly President…
Yes, everyone, you can change your password as soon as you sign up.
Hey all– Sorry, I completely forgot to mention this: last I checked, we still don’t have the automatic password response thing working properly. So if you sign up for the website (which you of course should), just shoot Matt or me an e-mail and we can set up a temporary password for you. See you on Thursday! –Matthew
Hey all– I have added a “Series Recommendations” page to the site (kudos to Jack Waas for the idea!), upon which you are all encouraged to post to your hearts’ content. You’ll need to register on the site (under “meta”), but you all ought to do that anyway. So it’s a cool website update, because hopefully you’ll MAKE it cool… Have a great weekend! –Matthew
The new episodes of Mushishi and Tide Line Blue that were viewed last night are ready for download off the bethel anime club website!
-Matthew W
Felicitations!
Just a reminder that there’s another Anime Club Meeting the next time 7:00PM rolls around! I’ve got all the descriptions up except for TLB and Mushishi (which you should be downloading anyway), and those really do have a good chance of going up during the day tomorrow. Starting with the Mushishi descriptions from last week, I’ll also be adding a “why I think this episode is so great” comment for each of my favorites of the episodes we watch. You can read them, or ignore them. But they’ll be there. And if you agree or disagree with my remarks, you can comment on the website…
It’ll be a great meeting tonight–Yoshinen will blow himself up, Mayuki will develop a boyfriend (ummm… sort of), Yugo’s fate will be decided, Keel will finally figure out what the heck is going on, a two-parter Dogtato-kun will tell the sad saga of Lettuphant and Cabbopotamus, Miaka will continue to be sort of pitiable and sort of contemptible, and Ginko will try to catch a rainbow.
Don’t miss it!
–Matthew
PS: The second episode of Mushishi we’re watching contains the single most androgynously-designed girl there has ever been in an anime–yes, more androgynous than Kino. Be prepared….
