Bethel Anime Club

Hey Guys,
I noticed lately that the website has’nt been getting as much traffic as it should, with all of the hard work Matt Fisher has put into episode descriptions and such I thought something needed to be done to increase website traffic. So here it is, now for the first time ever, you can watch Matt Fisher via web cam, go about his day to day routines at work (Matt Fisher is not guaranteed to be seen). This complete invasion of privacy is the best reason you now have to visit the site! So come and watch Matt as he does his “work”, and perhaps read an episode summary or two while downloading some free anime (which brings me to my next point). New episodes of Mushishi and Tide Line Blue are now available for download!

Hallo everyone!
I got back yesterday at 6 pm-ish. I hope everyone’s summer has been going well so far.
I had a really great time in Germany, and although it was a lot of fun I’m glad to be back. I’ll be comming to anime club tonight, and I was just curious if I need to bring Samurai 7. I’m not really sure what episode we left off on, so someone send me an e-mail and tell me so I make sure I bring the right DVD if we are watching it.

PS: For all of you confused folks out there, tonight’s episode of NieA_7 will finally (mostly) explain what the heck is up with the muttering Indian who does the next episode previews. Also, the first episode we’ll be viewing of Mushishi will actually introduce another reoccurring character, and the second is the first of the truly great episodes (…? Never mind, I’m too tired to rewrite it). I’m really looking forward to this…

Hey all– The anime downloads are still in the same place, but we’ve had to add one more link between the Anime Club website and the downloads–so you can also go straight to http://www.scaleddesign.net/animedl/ to grab them. (Wierd server issues. Don’t ask.) COOL update: We now have two versions of the first two episodes of Mushishi up. The C1 version is that which we watched in Anime Club, but the Moo-shi one is a much, MUCH higher-quality encode (especially recommended for the second episode… the Dark is a completely different experience in H.264). The Moo-shi episodes have, in my opinion, weaker subtitles (which is why we used the other versions in Anime Club); but you can never have too much Mushishi! –Matthew

Due to some Apache cacheing issues, the web server gained some massive temp files because of the links to the anime downloads (WordPress did something funky). To fix this problem, a direct link to the directory with the anime has been added, hopefully resolving this issue. -Matthew W

If you have not read the summaries on the Anime Club web site, you really ought to do so (under Pages/Currently Viewed Anime). Even if you have already seen the episodes, Matt F’s series summary and episode summaries are a fun read.

Hey all–
A pair of important reminders:
1. Anime Club tomorrow evening at 7:00! All those of you who were here on the first day know the awesome stuff we’re watching, and as for the rest…
2. bethelanime.ath.cx is now possessed of *complete* series and episode descriptions! (Check under the “pages” menu in the top left for “Currently Viewed Anime.”) This means that if you’ve missed a week or two you have NO EXCUSE: go to the site, read the descriptions, and avoid having to ask what’s going on in Anime Club. Additionally, Mushishi and Tide-Line Blue episodes are available for speedy, direct, unlimited-bandwidth download–and they are awesome shows, so it may be better to watch them than read my verbose treatises.
