The following invitation may be of interest to you. One of the films is a half-hour anime, the other is live action.
On another note, if your Christian family lives in the Twin Cities, you might want to consider hosting one of the Japanese college students for 3-4 weeks in the summer. (See www.spii3.com for details.)

Dear Friends,
You are cordially invited to attend a free event and discover some amazingly creative things being done to impact Japanese culture through redemptive short films. Come to see the Minnesota premiere of two short films: Kakurembo (Hide and Seek) and Jitensha (Bicycle). Jitensha is currently a selection at the Venice Film Festival, one of the top film festivals in the world!
You’ll have the chance to meet the producer, Paul Nethercott, and others involved in the making of these films. And you’ll meet other people in our community who have an interest in Japan and the Japanese people.
This event is being hosted for “Studio Re:” by the St. Paul Intercultural Institute at Bethel University. Studio Re: is an international group of Christian artists who produce films that lead Japanese to discover that there is more to life… much more.
The event begins at 6:00 PM and will end by approximately 7:30 PM.
The location is the Monson Chapel of Minnehaha Academy’s South Campus, 4200 West River Parkway, Minneapolis 55406: Map
Space is limited to about 200 people, so your RSVP is much appreciated.
We hope to see you there!
