Bethel Anime Club

Hey everyone,

So, I forgot to bring this up on Saturday, but are people going to be here this coming Saturday? Due to it being Fall Break, I wasn’t sure how many people were going to show, and whether I should conduct the club or not. So here’s the deal: Please email me by Friday to let me know that you ARE coming. If I don’t receive more than 5 emails, then I will cancel Anime Club. Got it? EMAIL ME IF YOU WANT TO GO ON SATURDAY (this applies to the non-Bethel students as well!!)

Regardless of how things turn out, I will email you all Friday afternoon to alert you as to whether we have club or not.

How are you? I hope you all had a good summer. Thank you so much for coordinating and hosting Japanese students again. I’m sure they had a great experience in MN.

This is a short notice, but I’m writing to let you know that we JSC (Japanese Student Connexion) are planning a coffee shop ministry for Japanese students coming Sunday afternoon. This is a trial event that connecting American Christians with students by helping them with their homework, conversation or just being a friends.

We’ll meet at _Bordetown Coffe_e in dinky town (http://www.bordertowncoffee.com/Bordertown/Home.html), from _3-6 this Sunday, 26th._ We’ll be serving Japanese tea and snacks along with coffee. If you or anyone are interested in meeting students, please join us. Please forward this mail to any families.

Sorry for the short notice, and if you can not make it, please pray that we can build up relationship for inviting them to Bible study some point.

Salut, mes amis!

Are you all ready for Anime Club this weekend? I am! We’re starting on the second episode of all of our shows, and I am stoked :3 If you missed last week, and want to get caught up before you come, just send me a note and I’ll send you the links to our shows.

Otherwise, we are meeting at our usual time/place (Saturday nights, 7pm-9pm in Room AC337).

Oh! And one final thing I want to mention: last week we had people leaving early and coming late. For anyone who can’t stay the entire time: if you want to see a particular show, send me an email and I’ll try to rearrange the shows so you can see the one(s) you want I’m completely open to what order we watch them in (although we will probably watch Baccano! at the end of Anime Club unless it’s request earlier, so whoever doesn’t want to see it can leave early).

Hey gang!

Welcome back old members, and a shout out to some potential new ones! It’s the beginning of a new year, and I’m pumped to see you all again I had a rather anime-less summer (except being sucked into the Bleach fandom…ahah…), so I’m ready for some new and exciting shows!

For those of you who are new, here’s how this goes: at our first meeting (this coming Saturday), people present shows they own/would like to see. We sample a few and then vote on what we will be watching this upcoming year. We typically view 5 complete shows in the course of a year, watching an episode from each one every time we meet. You can come and go to Anime Club as you please, but if you ever miss a show you wanted to see, just email me and I can hook you up.

We meet on Saturdays from 7 pm to 9pm in Room AC337 (which is back in the Psychology area). Any freshmen who think they might have problems finding their way there can email me and I’ll meet you somewhere you’re familiar with and show you where it is. Or you could be like me when I was a freshman, and sit outside the wrong room for half of Anime Club and feel like a complete n00b. Lol.

Also, this Saturday for anyone who wants to come, I’m holding a discussion at 6:30 in the club room (before the club starts) about what’s acceptable to watch (and what isn’t) in terms of both content and copyright. This is a discussion, as in it’s not just me talking at you, but a group of people holding a conversation, so please come with opinions and reasons why you support them.

One final word to old members: I really, REALLY can’t afford to buy food all the time this year, so if some of you want to bring some exciting things to eat to the first meeting, that would be amazing
