Week 4 Synopses

Episodes 7 and 8 Synopses:

Episode 7 (“The Secret Cave”) initiated a shocking development in the Dogtato-kun universe: a two-part series! The great saga begins in great Norse fashion, as Dogtato-kun and Hedgetato-chan take shelter from the rain in a mysterious cave, where multicolored bubbles rise from the stalagmites and float up to the ceiling. They soon discover that these bubbles save their voices: every time they say something a bubble appears (pink for Hedgetato and blue for Dogtato-kun), and when the bubbles are popped they hear their statements again! They have fun with some “I love you”s, and when they leave the cave they promise to make it their special secret. They also run into Lettuphant, a rather selfish lactucal pachyderm who has a big crush on Dogtato-kun and hates poor Hedgetato-chan. Unfortunately for Lettuphant, Cabbopotamus has a big crush on her even though she finds him disgusting and sort of weird. (Well… yeah.) After running into him, Lettuphant stumbles across the cave and decides to let off some steam by yelling into it. She yells things like, “Dogtato-kun, you idiot!” and “I hate you, Hedgetato-chan!” and walks away feeling much better. But the next day when Hedgetato comes into the cave and accidentally pops Lettuphant’s bubbles instead of Dogtato-kun’s, she mistakes Lettuphant’s voice for his and runs off crying. Oh, the tragedy! How will this horrible situation ever be resolved?

Episode 8 (“The Cave’s Secret”): After being followed around by her for a while, Dogtato-kun figures out that Lettuphant made the bubbles and chases after Hedgetato with one of his own “I love you” bubbles stuck to his tail. Meanwhile, Cabbopotamus finds some of the bubbles floating around and eats them. He manages to get the highly unlikely combination (in Lettuphant’s voice), “Cabbopotamus, I love you!” As he starts off to find her, Dogtato-kun uncovers Hedgetato-chan half-buried in the dirt. She tells him that she hates him (oh, the angst!) but as he walks off dejectedly, the bubble on his tail pops and Hedgetato realizes what an awful mistake she’s made. She chases after the love of her life, and the two reconcile happily. As they walk off, they see Lettuphant getting her just desserts: Cabbopotamus is chasing her and… well… OK, he’s trying to inhale her. She keeps on being almost sucked into his mouth, than running, then being sucked in, etc. Ah, if only justice in the real world were so poetic…
