Week 7

That’s it, it’s the end of the world (again): Keel and Joze are trapped together on a tiny submarine. Out of fuel, they head for the nearest land: Tibet. In an uncanny coincidence, Tean and Aoi have also arrived there to negotiate with the Dalai Lama, a surprisingly young woman who takes an instant liking to Tean. Keel and Joze run into serious trouble when manages to gamble away their ship, and Keel runs into trouble of a more emotional kind when he reencounters one of his old friends from Yabitsu and discovers that another of his friends died in the attack. Keel also runs into Blantyre, who is killing time by helping the refugees until he can rejoin the UN forces. But outside of the carefully-controlled environment of the submarine, in the hustle and bustle of a modern city, Joze freaks out. She can’t handle real life, and as the episode ends she finally comes up with a way she can help Gould. The final image of the episode is of the midday prayers, and the whole city bows except for Tean, Aoi, Keel, and Joze, all in the marketplace together. They’ve all been reunited—and Joze is pointing a gun at Aoi’s head.

And the Ulysses and Isla? No one seems to know where they are…
